ARTIST'S STATEMENT
Thelma grew up in Hebron, Indiana and graduated from Indiana University with a B.S. and M.S. in elementary education. She taught in the Indiana public schools and Columbus, Indiana. Retiring from Richmond community school in 1981 she maintains a home studio and teaches painting classes. She works in a traditional style; subjects of rural life including farms and native flowers. "I paint landscape that appeals to me that reflect a quiet peaceful environment of county. Things that are refreshing and calm. There is beauty all around us. I am not trying to change the world".
