Competition is open to artists aged 18 and over in Darke County and the surrounding area.
***Also for students age 5-18, but request a different entry form with different requirements.
MUST BE ORIGINAL 2D OR 3D WORK ONLY
All art work must be original in concept, design and execution. Copies of art work, or any published/Internet photos will be rejected. Using photos taken or hired by artist are acceptable. Works will be juried/judged on Thursday, September 27.
CURRENT WORK ONLY. Art work must have been completed in the last two years and previous shown work at Greenville Art Guild Show is not eligible.
HANGING. All work must be dry, labeled, matted/framed, with wire hangers suitable for media/weight/size and ready to hang. Gallery wrap of at least 1 1/4 inches with are painted completely around sides. We reserve the right to reject any work not keeping with these conditions.
LABELING. Entry labels provided must be affixed to the back left bottom corner of a hanging work or bottom of a standing work.
Professional: Earning part or all of your living from art, holding an art degree or competing previously as a professional.
Amateur: Attending art school or your art is primarily recreational.
Art can be entered in the following areas:
OIL-pigments with oil/water soluble oil based medium.
ACRYLIC-water soluble paint executed in the manner of oils.
WATERMEDIA-transparent watercolor or aquatic medium.
DRAWING-graphite, charcoal, pen and ink or colored pencils.
PASTEL-powdered pigment applied to paper
MIXED MEDIA-two or more media applied or a collage.
3 DIMENSIONAL-pottery, sculpture, jewelry, textiles, stained glass, and art in the round or relief format.
75% of the work must be done by the artist. No domestic arts.
PHOTOGRAPHY-original photo, 8 x 10 or larger, matted and framed with wire hanger.
Artists may enter up to three (3) works of art for one non-refundable entry fee. Make checks payable to Greenville Art Guild.
GUILD MEMBERS ENTRY FEE: $20.00
NON-MEMBERS ENTRY FEE:30.00
A Best of Show Award will be given in the Professional ($200) and Amateur Divisions ($100).
A 1st ($50). 2nd ($40), and 3rd ($30) place award will be given for each category in the Professional Division. A 1st ($35), 2nd ($25), and 3rd ($15) award will be given in the Amateur Division.
Memorial and Patron Awards will be given to artists' works deemed superior by the judge.
Purchase Awards will be given during the reception.

This year's judge is Fiona Miller, a watercolor artist and architectural illustrator from the UK, currently in Xenia, Ohio. She has a vibrant and lively style which stems from her curiosity about the world. Her background is in the field of architecture with degrees from Cambridge University and Oxford Brooks University. She has worked in architectural firms and as an adjunct lecturer in Art Appreciation. Her primary focus has been in her own freelance business pursuing her love for architectural watercolor painting. Her paints have been shown in a variety of solo and group exhibitions.

SEPTEMBER 10, 2018-Entry must be returned/postmarded to Greenville Art Guild, PO bOX 172, Greenville, OH 45331 with show fees included.
SEPTEMBER 26, 2018-2:00 to 6:00 PM-Deliveery of art work to the Shawnee Prairie Nature Center, 4267 State Route 502, Greenville, OH 45331
SEPTEMBER 28, 2018-7:00 pm_Opening
Reception and Awards at Shawnee Prairie Nature Center.
OCTOBER 2, 2018-5:00 TO 6:00 pm-Pick up all art work at the Shawnee Prairie Nature Center-no work will be released before this time.
Liability-Reasonable precautions will be taken to insure art safety. However, the Guild will not be responsible for loss or damage to any art work.
The Greenville Art Guild will retain a 20% commission on art work sold during the show.
