I love to draw and I love to paint. I like painting en plein air and in my studio.
I really like the looks of old barns with character and not perfect. Cloud formations are fascinating and incorporated into my paintings.
I’ve been to France on a painting trip. It was a 10 day trail through French artists’ studio and houses. We visited Monet’s gardens and home. In the county side we came across a little church with the Yellow Christ painting; amazing to look up and to see a painting of this importance.
Trips include Montana to paint lakes and mountains. Painting on location is inspirational, learning new things and collecting research material to paint.
I have been to Rockport MA two or three times to paint the ocean and buildings, including Motif #1. I will be going again this summer.
Another painting trip was to Puerto Rico.
I am working to do a more impressionistic style, even with still life. New things are fun and interesting.
I enter most of the local art shows/sales and have had some success in winning awards.
Best of Show, Greenville Art Guild Exhibition in the miniature category.
